Court recognizes 2 A-bomb survivors as radiation disease sufferers
Lawyers for plaintiffs hold banners in front of the Nagoya District Court in the central Japan city on Sept. 14, 2016, after the court recognized two men exposed to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as suffering from radiation diseases, overturning the government's rejection of their bid to be certified under standards eased in recent years. The court, however, dismissed similar claims made by two women who were exposed to the Nagasaki atomic bomb. (Kyodo)
