Huge sinkhole at subway construction site causes havoc in Fukuoka
Workers using pumper trucks pour concrete-mixed dirt into a huge sinkhole at a crossing near JR Hakata Station in Fukuoka, southwestern Japan, on Nov. 8, 2016, caused earlier in the day apparently by construction work for the Nanakuma subway line. The incident disrupted traffic, power supplies and banking systems, with local authorities evacuating nearby areas for fear of gas leaks and more cave-ins. (Kyodo)
