Suga declares virus state of emergency in 7 additional prefectures
TOKYO, Japan : Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga meets the press in Tokyo on Jan. 13, 2021, after declaring a state of emergency in seven additional prefectures, including Osaka and Aichi, amid a spike in coronavirus cases. It follows a state of emergency being imposed for the second time in the Tokyo metropolitan area on Jan. 8.
