Lower house passes pension reform bill amid opposition protest
Lawmakers representing three opposition parties walk out in protest from the House of Representatives chamber in Tokyo on Nov. 29, 2016, abstaining from a vote on a bill aimed at keeping Japan's pension system sustainable in the face of the country's graying and shrinking population. The bill, which opposition parties call the "pension-cutting" bill, passed the lower house and will progress to the upper house. (Kyodo)
