Abe visits monument dedicated to ship collision victims
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (2nd from R) visits a monument in Honolulu on Dec. 26, 2016, dedicated to the nine people who died in a 2001 collision off Hawaii between the Ehime Maru, a Japanese fisheries school training boat, and a U.S. naval submarine undergoing a demonstration cruise carrying civilians. Abe is in Hawaii for a visit to Pearl Harbor -- the site of the Japanese surprise attack in 1941 that drew the United States into World War II -- and a final summit with U.S. President Barack Obama.
