Japan's disaster minister quits over quake gaffe
Masahiro Imamura is surrounded by reporters after tendering his resignation as Japan's disaster reconstruction minister to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the premier's office in Tokyo on April 26, 2017. Imamura said a day earlier it was "a good thing" the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami struck northeastern Japan rather than the Tokyo area. (Kyodo)
