Fukushima village begins sowing rice for 1st time since disaster
Rice planting for commercial sales begins at a paddy in the northeastern Japan village of Iitate on May 10, 2017, for the first time since the disaster at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in 2011. The government lifted evacuation orders at the end of March in most parts of the village affected by the nuclear crisis. (Kyodo)
