China, Philippines agree to work on disputes, promote cooperation
China and the Philippines hold talks about the South China Sea, in China's southwestern city of Guiyang on May 19, 2017, the first of their kind since Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte came to power in 2016. The two sides agreed to seek "mutually acceptable approaches" to deal with their maritime disputes, according to a joint statement. (Kyodo)
