State-backed entity discusses Fukushima reactor fuel removal plan
A meeting is held in the northeastern Japan city of Iwaki on July 31, 2017, on how to extract melted fuel from the three crisis-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactors. During the meeting, the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corp. said it plans to remove the melted fuel by partially filling the three reactors with water to cover some of the nuclear debris.
