Marsupial fossil tooth unearthed in southwestern Japan
Photo taken Aug. 18, 2017, shows a fossil tooth of a marsupial relative unearthed in the Kumamoto Prefecture town of Mifune, southwestern Japan. It boosts hopes that the trove dating back some 90 million years can unravel the evolution of mammals in Asia, according to the Mifune Dinosaur Museum. (Kyodo)
