Single pilot solar plane holds test flights in Hokkaido
A single pilot solar plane flies at Takikawa Sky Park in Takikawa in Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido, on Aug. 21, 2017. The SP-1, a small aircraft weighing 86 kilograms with a wingspan of about 18 meters and a fuselage about 9 meters in length, was jointly built by Japanese aircraft-maker Olympos and engineering students. The plane successfully flew at an 11-meter altitude during test flights. (Kyodo)
