Dog barks to warn of burglar, receives gratitude letter from police

Photo taken Sept. 7, 2017, shows Lucy, a 17-year-old pet miniature dachshund after receiving a certificate of appreciation from the Namerikawa Police Station, at the station in Toyama Prefecture, central Japan. On the night of May 4, Lucy, who is in her late 80s in human age, barked and banged her body against her cage to wake her owner, a woman in her 40s, when a man broke into her house in Namerikawa and attempted to get away with money. The alarm raised by the dog led to the arrest of the intruder. (Kyodo) ==Kyodo
