Sushi-resembling diapers prove popular as baby gift in Japan

Noriyuki Monda, an employee of Wire Mama, a childcare information magazine publisher in Tokushima, shows an assortment of sushi-resembling diapers with baby soaps and bibs used as colorful "toppings" to resemble squid and shrimp, in the western Japanese city on Sept. 4, 2017. Taking a hint from the western practice of giving a "diaper cake" as a baby shower gift, Monda developed a "diaper sushi," which has been a big hit since the company started its sale in 2012.
