Kids begin voting to pick Tokyo Olympic, Paralympic mascots
A teacher at an elementary school in Fukushima, northeastern Japan, leads her class in discussion on Dec. 11, 2017, on which of the three pairs of candidate characters they will vote for to become the official mascots for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Voting by school children began the same day, with classes at eligible elementary schools across Japan able to cast one ballot each. (Kyodo)
