Japan-South Korea "comfort women" deal
Protesters call for the nullification of a deal between Japan and South Korea to settle the issue of so-called comfort women, in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul on Dec. 28, 2017. Japan and South Korea agreed in December 2015 to "finally and irreversibly" resolve the issue of comfort women, who were forced to work in Japan's wartime military brothels, but the South Korean government said in December 2017 that the deal did not reflect the opinions of the victims.
