6 arrested in Japan for gold smuggling
Photo taken on Jan. 29, 2018, in Tokoname, central Japan, shows 5 kilograms of gold bars worth about 23 million yen ($210,000) which were seized in July 2017. Three Sri Lankans, a Malaysian and two Japanese were arrested on suspicion of smuggling the gold bars to Japan from Singapore, hiding them in a lavatory on an airplane bound for Chubu airport in the city in Aichi Prefecture.
