Water-pouring ritual in Japan
Buddhist monks pour holy water into the Onyu River in the Sea of Japan coastal city of Obama in Fukui Prefecture on March 2, 2018, as part of a ritual to send fresh water to Todaiji temple in the ancient capital city of Nara. It is believed that the water arrives in a well in the temple's premises 10 days later. (Kyodo)
