Controversial statue in Busan
Police stand guard around a statue symbolizing Korean workers who were taken to Japan during its 1910-1945 colonial rule, near the Japanese Consulate General in Busan on May 5, 2018. The statue has been left on a sidewalk near the Japanese diplomatic mission following a clash earlier in the month between activists and police over a plan to put it up in the area. (Kyodo)
