Controversial statue in Busan
A civic group member protests in Busan, South Korea, on May 31, 2018, against the removal of a statue symbolizing Korean workers who were forcibly taken to Japan during its 1910-1945 colonial rule. Later in the day, the city removed the statue, which had stood on the sidewalk since May 1 after the civic group was blocked by police from erecting it in front of the Japanese Consulate General.
