Parasols donated to eastern Japan city to beat heatwave

Saitama Gov. Kiyoshi Ueda (C), Yasuo Wakabayashi (L), president of parasol maker Aurora Co., and Kazumine Torigoe of Toray Industries Inc. pose in front of the Saitama prefectural government office on Aug. 1, 2018. The Tokyo-based parasol maker and the major textile company, also based in Tokyo, donated a combined 70 parasols to the eastern Japan prefecture earlier in the day at a time when many parts of the country are experiencing dangerous heatwaves, including Saitama's Kumagaya city where the mercury logged Japan's highest-ever temperature of 41.1 C in late July.
