Former "comfort woman" Kim Bok Dong dies at 92
Photo taken in January 2017 shows Kim Bok Dong (R), attending a rally protesting against the Japanese government's stance on the issue of "comfort women" who were forced to work in Japanese military brothels during World War II. Herself a victim, Kim was vocal about her experiences and worked to eradicate sexual violence during war. She died on Jan. 28, 2019, at age 92. (Kyodo)
