Japan' "scientific research" whaling
A minke whale is unloaded at a port in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, northeastern Japan, on May 4, 2019. It was caught under Japan's last scientific research program off the Pacific coast before it withdraws from the International Whaling Commission at the end of June and resumes commercial whaling possibly from July.
