Juvenile salmon released in Hokkaido river
Juvenile salmon swim in the Nishibetsu River in Shibecha, Hokkaido, northern Japan, on May 13, 2019, after being released. Around 200,000 juvenile salmon, each measuring around six centimeters in length, were released in the river on that day, with around 0.2 percent expected to return there a few years later. (Kyodo)
