Japanese lawmakers with disabilities
Newly elected lawmakers with severe physical disabilities, Yasuhiko Funago (R) with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Eiko Kimura with cerebral palsy, enter the parliament's upper house chamber in Tokyo on Aug. 1, 2019, to attend an extraordinary Diet session. Funago and Kimura, of the anti-establishment Reiwa Shinsengumi party, won seats in the July 21 upper house election. (Kyodo)
