Sake brewed in memory of Kumamoto earthquake victim
Takuya Yamato and his wife Shinobu, whose 22-year-old son Hikaru was killed in the April 2016 earthquake that hit their hometown in Aso, Kumamoto Prefecture, southwestern Japan, hold on Aug. 3, 2019, in Ozu in the same prefecture sake that was made from rice planted by the son just before the quake. The parents developed the sake in memory of Hikaru as well as to thank people who engaged in the search for him after the earthquake. (Kyodo)
