Casual wear campaign at Japanese bank
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. employees head to work in Tokyo on Sept. 2, 2019, while wearing T-shirts, as a casual dress campaign begins at its Tokyo and Osaka headquarters the same day. About 7,000 employees out of the bank's total workforce of 28,000 have been encouraged to dress casually under the campaign, which the bank says is aimed at changing the general public's perception of bankers as being stuffy.
