Kimono using Kyo-yuzen dyeing method
Undated file photo shows a kimono colored using the Kyo-yuzen dyeing technique developed in Kyoto in the mid to late 17th century. The kimono was made by Tomihiro Co., a kimono shop in the northeastern Japan city of Yamagata. A procession by Mogami Yoshiaki, the feudal lord who ruled the Yamagata region about 400 years ago, and his people is depicted on the kimono (Kyodo)
