Amazon's Japan unit to return 2 bil. yen to suppliers

Amazon Japan G.K. has pledged to return around 2 billion yen ($18.8 million) to about 1,400 suppliers after having them shoulder part of the costs to cover discounts the online retailer applied on goods, the Japan Fair Trade Commission said on Sept. 10, 2020, referring to the Japanese unit's proposed reforms submitted to the antitrust watchdog in late August.
