Special fridge to retain freshness of cherries for 2 months
Photo taken Aug. 27, 2020, in Higashine, Japan's largest cherry producing city in the northeastern Japan prefecture of Yamagata, shows cherries that have retained their freshness even two months after storage in a refrigerator. A chamber in the refrigerator is vibrated through the application of voltage, helping prevent the cherries inside it from being frozen even below the freezing point, an important factor in keeping food fresh.
