Ex-chairman of bankrupt Japan Life, 13 others arrested over fraud
File photo taken at the Consumer Affairs Agency in December 2017 shows a magnetic vest used by now-bankrupt Japan Life Co. in its "rental owner" investment scam.
The company's former chairman, Takayoshi Yamaguchi, 78, and 13 others were arrested on Sept. 18, 2020, on suspicion of running the scam, involving clothing, jewelry and other goods it claimed have health benefits.
