6 years after Mt. Ontake eruption
People wearing face masks due to the coronavirus pandemic observe a moment of silence for the victims of the Mt. Ontake eruption during a ceremony in Otaki, Nagano Prefecture, central Japan, at 11:52 a.m. on Sept. 27, 2020, the time of the eruption exactly six years earlier. The disaster killed 58 people, with another five people never found.
