"Comfort women" statue in Berlin
The Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issues of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan, a South Korean advocacy group that supports "comfort women" forced to work in the Japanese military's wartime brothels, holds a meeting in Seoul on Oct. 14, 2020. Participants welcomed the decision by authorities in the Mitte district of Berlin to allow a "comfort women" statue in the German capital to remain for the time being.
