A new literary biography of Czech-born writer living in France Milan Kundera called Kundera: The Czech Life and Times, by Jan Novak in Luxor bookstore in Prague, Czech Republic, June 26, 2020. Novak worked on the biographical novel for four years and drew the material for his book from many publicly available sources, including the archives of the StB former Communist secret police. Born in Brno in 1929, Kundera has been living in France since 1975. He made his mark as a writer not only in the former Czechoslovakia (The Joke), but also in emigration where he wrote such novels as The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1984) and Immortality (1990).
