The 120-year-old synagogue in Hartmanice
The 120-year-old synagogue in Hartmanice is the only one to have survived of the dozens of synagogues in Sumava that were damaged under the Nazi occupation (1939-45) and the communist regime (1948-89). In 2002 the Hartmanice Memorial civic association bought the ruin of the synagogue and reconstructed it for some seven million crowns. Pilsen Region, Czech Republic, September 15, 2020.
