Japan's tallest building in Osaka

OSAKA, Japan - Photo on Oct. 23, 2012, shows a view from the 55th floor of the Abeno Harukas building in Osaka City's Abeno Ward now under construction and already the tallest structure in Japan. Niju-bashi Bridge,the Imperial Palace

Kakumon Bridge spanning the inner moat (Nijubashi Moat) is said to have been built during the Kansei Period (1789-1801). During the Edo and Meiji Periods, the bridge in the foreground was called Nishinomaru Ote-bashi and the one behind it Nishinomaru Shimojo-bashi. The names currently used by the Imperial House Agency are Imperial Palace Main Gate Stone Bridge and Imperial Palace Main Gate Iron Bridge, respectively. Since 1948, commoners have been allowed to cross these bridges on January 2 and on the Emperor's birthday. Kumamoto Castle

A photo almost the same as the photo numbered 12-2. The time of photography can be determined from the existence of the Kato Kiyomasa Shrine in the fore. The construction of the building in the shrine began in 1872, and in 1875, it was moved to the Kyomachidai. The two castle towers were later lost in fire.
