        Arashiyama (Mt. Arashi) has a height of about 380 meters. It is located on the east edge of the Tanba Highlands and has Torigamine and Yamagamine to the northwest and Mt.                       The steep slope to the Kojimachi area along the inner moat of the Imperial Palace from the direction of Kanda. The slope was made less steeper at the time the road was restored after the Great Kanto Earthquake. A lighthouse was built in 1871 as a landmark for fishing boats coming into Tokyo Bay.
