When Okuma Shigenobu died in 1922, his house and garden were donated to Waseda University in accordance with his will. The garden is about 33,960 square metres in area. Okuma Hall is now located on the site of the house. The Rihga Royal Hotel Waseda was opened in the northern part of the garden in 1994.         The Great Bell,Chion-in Temple

        The big bell of Chion-in Temple is seen from the west side of the bell tower. Men and women in kimono are looking at the bell over the iron fence. Also called Yoshimizu's Bell, this is the largest bronze bell in Japan and was cast at Sanjo-Kamanza foundry in 1636. It is 5.4m high, 2.7m in diameter, 29cm thick, and weighs 7.5 tons.
