The Mogi Road

The road from Nagasaki to Mogi used since the Edo Period. This photograph captures the scene near Yanagiyama just beyond Tagami. Since this road was steep and difficult to negotiate for horses and carts, a new road (the former prefectural road) was built in 1885.
