One of the major temples of the Shingon Sect of Buddhism, Butsumo Mayasan Toritenjoji Temple was located on the hillside of Mt. Maya (alt. 700m). The main hall, Bunin-do, and Ema-do (the building on the upper left) stood about 400 steps up from the niomon gate.
