This is the mountain road to Takino'o Shinto Shrine following the course of Inari River from Kaizando, on the northeast side at Sannai area of Nikko. The road seems well groomed, not just the stone center, but the edges as well. There are many historical sites along the road, among them the tomb of Shodo Shonin, the founder of Mt.         The cedars along Nikko Highway were donated by Matsudaira Masatsuna on the 33rd anniversary of the death of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.           Mt. Asama (2568m) as seen from the post town of Kutsukake, one of the three post towns of Asama-Negoshi. The Nakasendo Highway passes the southern foot of the mountain. It was after the opening of the first road built as part of the Seven Route Construction Project of Nagano Prefecture in 1883 that carriage traffic appeared. The stream is Yukawa.               The Rokudo Jizo are typical examples of stone Buddhist statues in Hakone together with the Magai botoke of Nijugobosatsu. It was carved on a rock facing Shojin Lake at the foot of the Mt. Kamifutagoyama, and has a height of over 4 meters. It was completed in 1300, and the Buddhist ceremony to consecrate a newly made image was conducted by Ryokan Boninjo.                   Arashiyama (Mt. Arashi) has a height of about 380 meters. It is located on the east edge of the Tanba Highlands and has Torigamine and Yamagamine to the northwest and Mt. Matsuo to the southeast. Hozu River runs from the north to the east at the northern foot of the mountain. A bamboo grove with a brushwood fence is shown at the bank of Hozu River, with hotels in the distance. A rickshaw with a woman passenger stands in front of the grove and a man stands nearby. The left side of the road is probably a boat anchorage.                       Minamoto Yoritomo died at the age of 53 in 1199, and his remains were buried in the Jibutsudo in the hills of Nishigomon in Kamakura city. The five-story stone pagoda with a stone fence marks the site.
