Procession of a thousand samurai warriors
The Hyakumonozoroe Senninmusha Gyoretsu (One Thousand Samurai Procession) at Nikko Toshogu Shrine is officially called Shinyotogisai. This festival commemorates the transfer of the shrine to Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu from Mt. Kuno (Shizuoka Prefecture) to Nikko.
