Yokosuka Coast

This is the first pier at the Igirisu Hatoba (British Wharf), which was enlarged after the fire of 1866. The pier was commonly called Zo-no-Hana ( Elephant's Trunk ). Until the iron pier was completed in 1894, large ships could not dock here. Barges docked on the left side of the pier.
