      The Golden Pavilion at Rokuon-ji Temple seen from the eastern edge of Kyoko Pond, facing west-northwest. The rock on the left is Hosokawa-ishi, and Ashihara Island is visible behind. The temple was built in 1398 but destroyed by arson in 1950. Unlike the reconstructed building of today, the original roof was supported by many columns at each level.         Tera-machi is viewed from the street of Koji-machi. The tiered building in the center is the Kannon-do at Kofukuji Temple, built beside the former founder's hall in 1825.           This is a scene of the Sakurababa and Irabayashi neighbourhoods near the fork of Nakashima River and Narutaki River (present-day Nakanohashi bridge). This scenery was given the poetic name Sakuraba Seiran (cherry blossom storm) and was known as one of the eight best scenes of Nagasaki.             Balcony of the main hall of Kiyomizu Temple seen from Okuno-in, facing west-northwest. Among the sightseers there are women with parasols. It is probably the beginning of summer because the trees are lush with leaves. The terrace was renovated in 1633. The building is in the yosemune style, and the roof is made entirely of hinoki tree bark. Wings flank the west side and the east and west of the south side.                 A photo almost the same as the photo numbered 12-2. The time of photography can be determined from the existence of the Kato Kiyomasa Shrine in the fore. The construction of the building in the shrine began in 1872, and in 1875, it was moved to the Kyomachidai. The two castle towers were later lost in fire.
