This is Oura and Higashiyamate from Minamiyamate. The newly built Confucius Shrine is in the middle. The street with the western-style buildings in the foreground used to be where foreigners used to go out to drink. Three buildings behind Confucius Shrine to the right have been recently restored ‘Seven Western Houses of Higashiyamate.’ The pink western style building in the upper right is Higashiyama Gakuin (the former British Consulate), the white building above it is Kaisei School.
