                The current test vehicle, the L0 Series, is the first commercial version and recorded the world's fastest speed of 603 km/h in 2003. The improved test car shown to the public has a new top shape. In the L0, the front lighting and forward vision camera on the top of the car were moved to the top. Another feature of the L0 is that the gas turbine power generator required for the test line has been eliminated, and only the induction current collection system, which is the target for the commercial specification, is used to supply electricity.                   Toyota Motor Corporation's Special Mobility for the Tokyo Olympics

                  On April 18, Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled to the press the APM (Accessible People Mover), an electric vehicle (EV) specially designed for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The APM will be used to transport the elderly, parents with infants, wheelchair users, spectators and athletes around the venue. The APM is an open-type vehicle with doors removed on both sides and can accommodate up to six people, including the driver. It is designed to be easy to get in and out of and easy for volunteers to drive. A ramp is stored under the floor, and the center seat can be folded to allow wheelchair access. The vehicle measures 3.9 meters in length, 1.6 meters in width, and 2 meters in height, has a maximum speed of 19 kilometers per hour, and can travel 100 kilometers on a single charge.                     Pioneer and other companies will proceed with demonstration tests of automated driving services

                    Pioneer, Michinori Holdings (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo), and Ibaraki Kotsu (Mito City) will conduct a demonstration experiment of an automated driving service using the 3D-LiDAR (LIDAR) laser scanner sensor on public roads in Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture until March 21. The experiment will verify that a self-driving bus equipped with the LIDAR sensor can detect people standing on the route and safely board the bus. The sensor will be installed in an automated vehicle provided by Yamaha Motor, which will run a section of approximately 1.8 kilometers.
