Kansai Electric starts mega solar system operation

SAKAI, Japan - Photo taken Oct. 5, 2010, shows solar panels belonging to a mega solar power generation plant of Kansai Electric Power Co. located in the Sakai city waterfront area in Osaka Prefecture. The company, which started operation of the plant the same day, became the first power utility in Japan to launch commercial operations of such a large-scale solar power plant. (Kyodo)
