Mandarin ducks come to Japan from north

YONAGO, Japan - Mandarin ducks rest at the Hino River in the town of Hino in Tottori Prefecture, western Japan, on Nov. 2, 2011. Around 700 Mandarin ducks were spotted the same day on or around the river, where about 1,000 of the birds annually winter after flying in from the north. (Kyodo)
