China says foreign Internet companies should operate legally
BEIJING, China - A Chinese man stands in front of the sign at Google Inc.'s Chinese headquarters in Beijing on Jan. 14, 2009, with an anti-U.S. poster saying ''The United States is an aggressor. It will certainly lose.'' The U.S. company said in a Jan. 12 statement that it was prepared to shut down its Chinese search engine Google.cn and pull its operations out of China because of China-based cyber attacks and surveillance activities combined with attempts to further limit free speech on the Web.
