JR East Shinkansen trains suspended due to system failure
TOKYO, Japan - Employees of East Japan Railway Co. scramble to address problems and respond to passengers at Tokyo Station as all five lines of its Shinkansen bullet train services were suspended for 75 minutes due to a control system failure on the morning of Jan. 17, 2011, affecting at least 53,000 people.
