Kan urges parliament to pass budget
TOKYO, Japan - Finance Minister Naoto Kan gives a speech on fiscal policy at a plenary session of the House of Representatives in Tokyo on Jan. 18, 2010, the opening day of the 150-day ordinary session of the Diet. He urged the ''earliest possible passage'' of the second extra budget, submitted earlier in the day, and related bills to ensure an economic recovery. (Kyodo)
